Backend developer

Position Overview

We're seeking a skilled Backend Developer to join our engineering team. You'll design, build, and maintain scalable server-side applications and APIs that power our platform. This role offers the opportunity to work with modern technologies while solving complex technical challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop robust backend services and APIs using modern frameworks and programming languages
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following industry best practices
• Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Optimize application performance, including database queries, caching strategies, and server-side efficiency
• Implement and maintain security best practices, data validation, and authentication/authorization systems
• Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and mentor junior developers
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement fixes with minimal downtime
• Document code, APIs, and system architecture for team reference
• Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to our tech stack

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional backend development experience
• Strong proficiency in at least one backend programming language (Python, Node.js, Java, Go, C#, etc.)
• Solid understanding of relational and non-relational databases
• Experience designing and building RESTful APIs or GraphQL APIs
• Familiarity with version control systems (Git)
• Understanding of software design patterns and SOLID principles
• Ability to write unit tests and practice test-driven development
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent professional experience
